KnarrTek Materials Tracking and Data Collection Technology

KnarrTek data collection and materials  tracking systems consists of a specialized website and a SQL Server database. These can be installed on a client's own Windows Server computer or used over the Internet on a Windows Server at a secure data center in the USA managed by KnarrTek though its BellHawk-On-Line Service.

Data collection can be performed in real-time from anywhere there is an Internet connection on a variety of devices including:

•  Windows PCs equipped with corded or cordless barcode scanners that plug into the USB port on each PC.
• Android tablets and iPads equipped with cordless Bluetooth barcode scanners.
• Android or Windows based mobile computers with integral barcode scanners.

With its use of "Magic Forms", the tracking software makes it easy for materials handlers and machine operators to quickly and accurately collect needed data and also provides immediate point-of-action warnings when they are about to make a data collection or operational mistake.

The status of work-in-process, raw, intermediate, WIP, and finished materials can be viewed anywhere, at any time, using any device that supports a web-browser, including Android smart phones and iPhones.

The KnarrTek tracking software comes with a complete set of screens, reports, and Excel exports through which users can selectively view and report on the real-time status of their operations.

The KnarrTek tracking software has many rules that can be configured by users for their specific applications by using Excel imports. This includes being able to specify custom data collection fields.

The KnarrTek tracking software can be used stand-alone or data can be exchanged with other systems using Excel file imports and exports. It can also exchange data with a wide-variety of different systems using its DEX Data Exchange Interface.

Data written into this local DEX database will be automatically used to update the corresponding tables in the tracking system database. Also all the data collected by the tracking system is mirrored into tables in the DEX database, where is can be used to update other systems or used to produce custom reports. These reports can be produced by linking Access or Excel to the DEX database or more complex report generation programs, such as Crystal Reports and SSRS can be used.

Clients do not need to purchase or use a barcode label printer with BellHawk. All materials tracking can be performed using pre-printed rolls of "license-plate" tracking barcodes, such as that shown here, which are available at affordable prices from our partners.  Also barcoded travelers, receiving and picking sheets can be printed on office laser printers.

If printing of custom barcode labels for attachment to products, boxes, and pallets is required then the KnarrTek TAG label Printing Software can be used to enable rules-based printing on a wide range of different barcode label printers, based on data in the BellHawk database. The TAG software is run on Windows Workstation computers in each plant to ensure rapid printing of labels on printers connected to the same LAN (local area network).
